Most small business owners I know do their marketing at 11 pm, after closing. On October 20, Google announced [new Gemini tools for small business owners](https://blog.google/innovation-and-ai/products/gemini-app/new-tools-small-business-owners/), and some of them can save you real evenings. Here is how to use Gemini for small business work, without a designer or a big budget.

## What is new

The Gemini app gets a business landing page. It is one place for the boring but important jobs: your brand, your numbers and your customers. Three parts matter most.

**Brand style.** You upload your website, brand kit, fonts or color palette once. Gemini remembers it and makes visuals in the same style with its image model, Nano Banana 2.1. No more explaining your colors in every prompt.

**Financial insights.** Gemini can turn messy spreadsheets, receipts and purchase records into charts and small interactive models.

**Connected apps and skills.** New marketing and finance skills, plus connections to Google Business Profile, Google Ads, Workspace, Canva, Shopify, Xero and others.

Google says it is rolling out globally to all Gemini app users in the coming days, so you may not see it yet.

## Who it helps

**A café or bakery owner.** You have a shoebox of supplier receipts and a sales sheet from the register. You want to know which costs went up, without building a pivot table.

**A maker who sells at markets.** You make ceramics, jewelry or candles. Every new product needs a photo post, a flyer and a price card, and they never look the same.

## How people already use Gemini for small business

It is very new, so I found no real hands-on reports yet. Google shares a few owner stories in its post. Morgane, who runs Bleu Clémentine in Bordeaux, uses Gemini for product descriptions, newsletters and social media hooks, and says it saves her two to three hours a day. A burger restaurant in New Jersey connects its Google Business Profile to follow local search and Maps performance. Keep in mind Google picked these stories itself.

## How to try it this week

For the café owner:

1. Export your last three months of purchases to a spreadsheet, or take clear photos of the receipts.
2. Remove anything personal, like staff names or card numbers.
3. Upload the files in the Gemini app and paste this prompt:

> Here are my café purchases for July to September. Group them by supplier and by category (coffee, milk, flour, packaging). Show me a chart of the monthly cost per category. Tell me the three biggest price increases and the receipts they come from.

For the maker: upload your website link and your logo once as your brand style, then ask:

> Make a square Instagram post and an A6 flyer for my new blue glaze mugs, price 28 euros. Use my brand style. Leave space at the bottom for the market dates.

Always check prices, dates and claims before you print anything.

## The honest caveats

Treat the money charts as a first look, not as bookkeeping. Your Steuerberater still needs the real numbers. Google says most connected apps are available in English in the US, so in Germany you may get brand style and file analysis before the Shopify or Xero connections. Google also did not say which limits each plan has. Finally, a connected app can sometimes write, not only read, so check what you allow.
